Allendale Juniors
General information and guidance for our junior members

Our Juniors are valued, supported and nurtured.
And they account for a third of our playing membership! We have a course that can accommodate young golfers, the equipment to support those new to the game and a team of trained adult volunteers, who together with our visiting PGA professional, are committed to providing an enjoyable and rewarding golfing experience for our Juniors.
We work closely with local schools and the community to provide regular taster sessions for potential young golfers. Free follow on coaching sessions with our visiting professional ensure that our Junior members progressively improve their skills and their knowledge of the game.
Adult volunteers who have all achieved appropriate qualifications, accompany the Juniors out on the course in “buddy sessions”. This helps ensure that they are adequately supported in learning about golf rules and golf etiquette.
Perfect playing environment/competitive membership fees/free professional coaching/on course buddy sessions/regular workshops/regular tailored competitions/participation in the Golf Passport programme…
…all of these opportunities are available for Junior members at Allendale Golf Club
Tuition
The Club holds regular Junior workshops where young golfers are encouraged to improve their golfing skills in a series of fun activities related to achieving the Golf Roots sponsored Junior Golf Passport award.
Competitions
Each year, we have a scheduled programme of Junior competitions played over 3, 6, 9 and 18 holes, that are designed to suit – and develop – all ages and abilities. There are forward, ‘blue tees’ on all holes of the course so those starting their competitive golfing careers face appropriate and fair golfing challenges.
In recognition of the facilities available to junior golfers the club was, for the last 3 years, one of 5 venues throughout Northumberland selected to host the Golf Tour.

2025 Fixtures

No Handicap? No Problem…
Juniors who don’t yet have a handicap can still take part in junior competitions. Get in touch with contact John Martin using his contact page and he will look at allocating you a temporary handicap to help you get started.
